Involving YOUNG people with Type 1 Diabetes in reSearch and the development of healTh cARe activities

Abstract Background Typ1 Diabetes (T1D) us a complicated condition that requires constant monitoring and making many decisions. Living with T1D means to check blood sugar levels, inject oneself insulin, be careful what you eat. In the life of young adult there are lot things going on youngsters don't want control themselves all day night. They rebel feel free. Methods Teenagers living actively involved in research process from data collection interpretation. Following photo voice method teenagers documented their everyday by photographs recordings (Summer 2021), discussed need resources group discussions. The visual audio-data was structured muti-touchscreen for which software developed during project. From inductively formed categories, measures were derived together people transferred into an action plan, presented decision-makers. Results During process, identified 26 categories (i.e. nutrition, coping strategies, autonomy, etc.) important describing diabetes categorized 4 dimension: psycho-social, time, subject space. project-team used systematic planning develop 9 goals plan improve T1D. local political leaders stakeholders different setting, such as health care youth work. responses stakeholder dialog positively agreement achieve defined goals.
